Stewart Allen died from wounds on 26th September, 1914, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 12th Lancers were part of 5th Cavalry Brigade, 2nd Cavalry Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war in August, 1914.
